The man who stood by Annie’s side raised His hand and pointed to a place beyond the lovely hills. I strained to see the view, a rocky cliff with a deep darkness that hung over the bluff and many cottages, or rather, shacks - dirty and dismal abandoned shacks with guards that controlled vicious looking hounds. Was that the place
this great man was sending Annie?
“Go to the place I have shown you, and preach this good news to the people there.”
“Yes, I will go, but will you be with me?” Annie asked
“I am in you, I will never leave you, never doubt that.”
“Yes Sir.” Annie said softly. I wondered when Annie would start to preach, for, I confess, I was eager to see the strange village pin-pointed by the great Man.
I beheld the Man walk with Annie to the strange village, hand in hand.
“Do not fear death, I am sending you here to be a victor. Even if your body is destroyed, no one can pluck your soul away. Your spirit may be broken, but I will give you a steady heart that keeps on going, a steady love that keeps on hoping and a steady grace that forgives no matter what.”
“Yes, my king, the King of my heart, I trust You, no matter what. I do not fear death, but perhaps the momentary pain.”
I held my breath as Annie walked up to the rocks and began to climb up. She soon reached the village and took a deep breath.
