I observed that on the other side of a river, was the most delightful paradise, which glowed with an unearthly beauty. The purple mountains were so majestic with a heavenly mist that rested over them. The hills and crags were a glorious green, like the highlands of Scotland in the spring. There were eagles flying at a greatly elevated distance. There was a palace in the center of the paradise, which seemed to be the gateway to Heaven itself. There were palm trees with coconuts in them leading up to the gates of the palace. Moreover, there were apricot trees, walnut trees as well pine trees and quince trees.
Annie longed to be in the paradise with marble streets and gold cobblestone paths. There were people, standing in front of the majestic pearl and silver gates, with trumpets. Their faces shone so bright, Annie could not look at them. Oh, how she longed to be on the other side of the river and be relieved from the heavy burden on her shoulders, for there was a river separating the mountain pass from salvation. On salvation’s side, the water was crystal clear, however, the water on the side Annie stood was murky and full of grime. Annie strained to see the bottom of it. I conceived in my mind that the cause of Annie not crossing to salvation was because her pride would not let her step into that putrid water. Then, I observed a very curious sight, Annie had stooped down to pick up a rock with the written word “Pride.” She tossed it in the water and decided to let go of her pride and surrender. As she stepped into the water, she felt a burning pain rise and consume her body. At that same moment, I beheld the burden on Annie’s back turn into rocks and fall in the water. As I spectated the occurring events, I saw that on a rock, was engrave the words “Your Will.”
Once Annie made her way to the palace, the angels holding trumpets blasted them and declared, “The sheep which was lost has now been found!” Annie bowed low, and when she stood, a Man, clothed in white with a face so full of love and joy with scars on His brow, hands and feet was standing in front of her. He bade her stand, and then spoke these words to her, “Your debt has been paid, your sins forgiven, you are blameless in my sight, and your new life has begun.” Annie’s tears began to fall as she gazed at her reflection in the water and saw that the fear and guilt in her eyes had now disappeared. She fell in to the Man’s embrace and sobbed, “Beautiful Savior, I am so sorry for all I have done, finally, I surrender. I will spend my days loving the One who has raised me up from death to life, from wrong to right. You make all things beautiful.”
Then the man replied, “Go and preach this message of salvation to every nation. It will be difficult, but I am the wind in your sails, and remember, I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
“Yes, my Savior.” Annie said, bowing her head low, “I am Your servant, what ever may pass, it is well with my soul.”
I at once began to wonder, out of curiosity, what she would accomplish now that she had her command – would she really listen?
