Once we've surrendered our lives to Christ, He is Lord, He is the King of our hearts and we must trust Him with whatever circumstances. We have entered the brave new world, the world of trusting in Christ, the world of hardships, struggles and sacrifice. I know, I have felt this many times. Sometimes, it's painful to be brave, to look at fear in the face and say, God, take me beyond the waves. He will never leave you, nor forsake you.
The other day, my uncle put some money in the bank and then paid his electric bill, after that, he went back and tried to pay another bill but the bank said he had no money. How could that be? He had just put some a few minuets before! As is turns out, someone had stolen his money. He was so depressed and he thought God had abandoned him. When you feel like this, and I know there is a time in everyone's life that they feel God has abandoned them and they are at their end, where God begins. He will turn the bitter into sweet, and the winter into spring - a new day for everyone. Though sorrow may last for the night, His joy comes in the morning
When you wake up in the morning, there is always a new facet to discover, another side of the prism. His love is new every morning.
I like singing. I like dancing. I also like to read books. I am musically inclined, I play piano and cello. I have a dog, who is my baby and my family owns chickens and goats.
My name is Lizbeth, and I'm a teenager. But the most important thing about me is what I am called to be. I am called to be Jesus, the King of kings and the Lord of lord's bride - Yes, I did say bride. Spotless and white. Free from all her guilt, and rid of all her shame, and known by her true name. As Jesus's bride, I must follow His lead, wherever that is. It may be scary, it may be crazy, it may be wild, but Jesus will make me brave. He will call me out beyond the shore to the waves.
I like to think life is like the ocean. Sometimes scary, sometimes crazy, sometimes wild, but other times smooth and mellow, the most beautiful place of peace and tranquility. I'm sure most of you have had times like this, wild and uncontrolled or peaceful and happy. Many times we set out on life with no guide, no one to tell us where to go. Many of us think we know what we are going to do with our life, become an actor, photographer, singer, lawyer, there are so many occupations we can try to claim. We can say "I'm going to be a singer when I grow up," but how do we know what we will do? We don't have our story written down in the palm of our hand; But
know who does, King Jesus. He holds our hearts, He knows us better than we know ourselves. He has a plan for you that can not be done without Him.
From my own experience, when I say "I want to be..." and I start trying to pursue that, the door for that is always shut and my heart is crushed and God has to come and undo me, and redo me again. This is life, life is about the undoing of our spirits and the molding and refining of our souls. Yes, it hurts, but Jesus is our maker, we must surrender to Him, He is the King of our hearts. Our future is like a gem, a gem that we try to take control of but we end up breaking it or loosing it. Surrender your future to God, He is the author of your life. He knows what you don't. God won't loose your gem, it's not going to be like God is brushing His teeth and looking at your gem and accidentally drops it down the drain and says "Oops, sorry, I lost that one." No! When you allow God to come into your life and take this area and all areas of your life in His loving hands your life will find the rhythm of your heart.
He is your refuge and strength, your ever-present help in time of trouble. He is the wind in our sails, those who trust in the Lord with their future will never be put to shame.
What if the path God leads you on becomes a road? What if the grounds God gives you becomes your home? God has given you a path, it may not be easy, it may not be romantic, but will you take it? You are afraid, but you can hear adventure calling. There's a rush of adrenaline to your bones. What you make of this moment changes everything.
Jesus is the wind in your sails, He will lead you to the rhythm of your heart, if you will let Him.
Friendly reactions to tracts:
I have been handing out a lot of tracts lately and I wanted to share some encouragement to all you girls to not give up handing out tracts.
Our family goes out every Wednesday to the store to go grocery shopping and to take my siblings and I to Music Class (my siblings and I all play piano and I also play Violincello).
While at the store, my siblings and I usually would pass out tracts to the workers there.
While we were at the checkouts, I gave a young guy who worked there a million dollar Jurassic Park dinosaur tract. He was in the middle of helping a customer when I handed it to him. I was very shocked by his reaction, he waved it in his hand and jumped up in the air and shouted, "I am rich!" I was very amused at his reaction and the look on the poor old customer who looked as if she had the fright of her life. After that, I handed the cashier at the next check stand the same kind of bill and was screaming to the cashiers at the next check stands, "I am SOO rich!!!"
These are a few times my tracts have been received, but I have many more testimonies. If you are feeling discouraged about you witnessing experience, just stop and pray, and remember all the times God was faithful. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Hi there! I've been doing a lot of reading lately, and I just decided to do a series of posts about my reading list! So, every Thursday, I am going to write a post on what's on my reading list!
Do Hard Things: A teenage rebellion against low expectations - Brett & Alex Harris
I absolutely recommend this book for any teenager out there, even non-Christians. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone, even parents! Brett and Alex go through all the dangers of low expectations and then go to explain some ways that we can do something about it! Be sure to check out my 'Resources' page to find out more. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone, even parents!
Don't Waste Your Life - John Piper
This book, like "Do Hard Things" is highly impacting. It challenges people to 'not waste their life', you have one life to live, what will you accomplish? This life is short, don't waste it!
This Changes Everything: How the Gospel transforms the teen years - Jaquelle Crowe
This book is for teenagers and is absolutely life changing. Jaquelle goes through all the main shackles that teens have such as music, TV, magazines etc. and goes on to share how Christ and the Gospel can transform your empty life and make it whole, I totally recommend this book for any teenager who is struggling with this.
I usually have a long list of fiction stories I am reading, but right now I (very surprisingly) am not reading any fiction stories. Since I am (currently) not reading fiction stories, I will only give a list of suggestions of books I have read before.
The Mystery - Ray Comfort
A Lost Pearle - Lamplighter Publishing
Millie Keith: Millie's Unsettled Season - Life Of Faith Publishing
Millie Keith: Millie's Courageous Days - Life Of Faith Publishing
Well, I hope you've enjoyed this reading list, God bless you all and have fun reading!
What do you think of when you hear that word? Pests? Monsters? Monkeys? Or do you think of best friends, fun times and unforgettable memories?
What do most people think of when they hear the word 'siblings'?
We've been talking a lot about evangelism and talking to people you don't even know, but, our first priority should always be to our family.
God has placed us in a family to love and cherish and be cherished. Many times we tend to focus so much on evangelism and ministry and other things, which is not wrong, but when we make that our top priority that is when it becomes wrong.
I have found that siblings can be the best treasures you can ever have! Yes, there will be many challenges and annoying times, but you are an overcomer!
Siblings are fun and funny (the picture above is two of my siblings=) but they can also become an irritation, and, who likes being irritated? What do most of us do when we become irritated? We usually respond irritated! I know this is hard, but God wants us to respond to these irritations with love and patience, and this is something that I really struggle with because it is hard! God gives us these "irritations" to strengthen us and help us grow in patience, love and a bunch of other good virtues.
Here is a way that I find very helpful to gain a better relationship with your brothers and sisters and it's to include them in you projects. A few days ago, I was re-decorating my room. My little brother and sister (whose illustrious faces are in the photo above) were playing on their bed and wanted to help me decorate my room! I really didn't think it would be a good time for them to help me, actually, to be honest, I didn't want their help because I thought they would be more of a bother than a blessing to my manufactures, but, after a while, I realized that even if they were no help, (which that dread they disproved), it would be a good time for them to become better friends with me! So, I let them help. They helped hang posters and give ideas of where to hang the posters and my brother even gave suggestions of which posters to hang! It was an awesome time with my little siblings that I would have missed out on if I had not let them help me!
God is watching us, He's watching to see how we will respond when He brings irritations. Remember, when you feel irritated, stop and pray for God's help, He will turn the bitter into sweet.
Here is a video of my little brother, Nathaniel, (AKA Tanny), dancing at our Christmas in the Park witnessing adventure, I hope you enjoy it!
